I renewed my license recently then updated to Lightburn 2.1.03. The problem I am having is that now when my laser is plugged in via usb, the software doesn’t acknowledge the COM Port exists. It sees the laser but there is nothing listed in the drop down for COM8 which is Device manager is showing as the port. It did find it one time but lost the port halfway through the cut and stopped the job. After that I have been unable to get it back. Xtool Firmware is up to date as well.
When I click the drop down arrow there are no options for COM Ports.
When Windows recognizes a USB Device there’s an audible chime when it connects.
Unplug and reconnect the USB Cable at the computer. If you hear the audible chime, the port should exist and the connection should disappear and reappear in the device manager (the first screen cap in your post.. Oh! …and thank you for the screen caps!)
If you didn’t hear the Audible chime It might be good to confirm that the XTool end of the usb cable is seated in the connector and that the connector is still affixed to the control board.
I had a control board that developed cracked solder joints on the power jack that I couldn’t see without magnification.

Windows USB power-saving strategies might be to blame for shutting down the port halfway through the burn (that or a screensaver setting). The connection should have woken up and reconnected right away.

My experience has been that once Windows drops a USB port, it does not seem to give it back without rebooting the computer. BUT it does seem like if you connect something else that uses that same COM port, it will give it to that new device. I learned this because I have an A-Off-B switch for my USB to 2 lasers.
I’ll work through these today and see if any of it fixes the problem. If it makes any difference for troubleshooting ideas, I was able to get the cut completed but had to use Xtool Creative Studio. There was no trouble with connectivity there but, I prefer to use Lightburn because it has better functionality.
In addition to this, if the COM port shows up in Windows Device Manager, make sure no COM ports are excluded in LightBurn.
Right click the drop down, and select “Show Excluded”
