One of my friends just lost her 19 year old son to cancer. She has a favorite picture of him I am trying to burn with nothing close to success and unfortunately this is the original copy of the photo. Can anyone recommend the settings I should use to improve the clarity/ quality of the burn? sculpfun s30 pro max 22w
Not really what you where asking - but I upscaled the image to 1722x3000 and used Affinity Photo to clean things up a bit.
When you now import this into LB it will be huge, so you need to resize – this will have the result of having far more detail than before.
The other “issue” is that the color palette is so “white” - so all the dithering will make things kind of look the same and hence even more blurr. Greyscale probably will work best though.
To try and help with that - some light recolouring - hat and t-shirt. Now they are different to the face, it should be more distinct when you engrave.
– Sorry for your friends loss.

Sorry for your friend’s loss. Wishing them comfort.
I began with Glenn’s image, thank you @GPG342 and made adjustments in LightBurn.
This version was created using LightBurn 2.0.00-RC-7, a five-watt diode, on MDF.
Your settings may/will vary, but I recommend starting with low power and a steady speed—just not too slow to prevent fire risk.
File attached for reference.

I really cannot thank you enough. I think it turned out pretty nice. I will be giving it to her this weekend
Turned out nice - good contrast in the etch.
Am sure she love it.
