Update Help version 2.1.01

ALARM:2 G-code motion target exceeds machine travel. Machine position safely retained. Alarm may be unlocked. (Right-click the ‘Devices’ button to reset the connection) On or near line 4: all was fine before I updated to 2.1.01 and I am unable to sort it. I am running the FoxAlien 80W Fixed Focus Blue Laser Module Kit | Optical Output 20W Bed size 380x800

Find a .prefs file from before the update and load that.

I did roll back the update to an older version with no joy.

Not an older version, reload a preferences file from before you did the update.

Hi where would I find this file as I am not to tech savvy

Its under Edit > Preferences > Load Preferences Backup and just select one from just before you did the update and it was working correctly.

Hi I opened lightburn top left of screen clicked edit drop down box came up but could not see a Preferences to click.

Did you review the ALARM:2 docs page that’s automatically linked in your message?

Try changing your “Start From” value to “Absolute Coords”

Hi chap that’s how it has always been.I have no idea what has gone wrong.

When exactly are you seeing the Alarm? When framing, or when starting a job?

Please do this:
Update to the latest version 2.1.02

Enable “Show all” in the Console window, do the thing that leads to the error, and send us a screenshot of the entire LightBurn Window (Showing your design in the workarea, the Laser window, and the full Console output).

laser will now home at bottom left which it should. But when trying to frame a job it will travel to top right always

Sorry when launching litghtburn laser will auto home which it has always done. Then when finished comes up with this.

I can jog manually.

Enable the “CNC Machine” toggle in the Device Settings, and try framing again with “Absolute Coords” selected.

Are you using the GRBL device profile or Custom GCode? (Please send a screenshot of the Device Settings, so we can check.)

I have always used absolute coordinates I only use the machine for laser Work so Lightburn is my only option

I’m talking about this option in “Laser Tools > Device Settings”

Enable this toggle and send us a screenshot, so we can see your other settings.
Hit OK, and try framing again.

ok now it will frame once where as before it used to frame continuously until I stopped it. but it framed on the opposite side of the bed the one in red is where it framed and not the black where it should have.
