Updated to new Version of Lightburn 2.1.01 and my Atomstack X40 will not fire. I spent over 2 hours trouble shoorting and cleaning the laser head only to finally decide to revert about to 2.0.05 and now it works as normal. So what is in the new shoftware that is causing this use. I assume there is some setting causing it. I have the Pro License as I have a CO2 laser as well.
Before upgrading, do a full export of all settings. Install the new version and then import all settings again. For me, nothing has changed. Though you can also upgrade again and compare the device settings to the ones you have now..
I will give that a try but have had Lightburn for a couple of years and never had an issue before with an upgrade..thanks for the reply
When you say âwill not fireâ do you mean during framing, or actual cutting?
If trying to run a job, can you show a screen shot of the settings you used (from 2.1)? Nothing has changed that weâre aware of that would prevent firing the laser at all.
There was an issue with units being switched from mm to inches which affected some people. If you ran a job and entered a speed of â3000â, for example, and didnât notice that the units were in inches, that could cause the laser either to fire very weakly, or possibly not fire at all.
Power levels set the same same job same cut but the laser will not fire but moves with the new version. When I roll back to 2.0.05 it works fine no issues
I will check that to see if that was the case with mm or in
Did you load an existing project file and hit âStartâ, or did you import some graphics and manually set power & speed? The first way wouldnât be affected by the units change, the 2nd way would.
I loaded an existing project to run that has been created in a previous version
Iâd suggest emailing support@lightburnsoftware.com and including your support data (Help > Generate Support Data) with the email. That will let us look at how you have the device configured, tell us which device profile you use, and so on.
If you want to go a bit further, do this:
- Using 2.0.05, draw a simple square, set it to Line mode with relatively low power - enough to see itâs working, not enough to cut. Save this as a project file.
- Go to Help > Enable Debug Logging
- Run the job
- Quit LightBurn
- Open your âDocumentsâ folder and find the âLightBurnLog.txtâ file. Rename it to LBLog_2.0.05.txt.
- Now, run 2.1.01, load that same square project file.
- Help > Enable Debug Logging
- Run the file
- Quit LightBurn
- Open your âDocumentsâ folder and find the âLightBurnLog.txtâ file. Rename it to LBLog_2.1.01.txt.
Email both of those LBLog.txt files - That would let us see exactly what is getting sent to your machine with your configuration in both apps, to compare them - Any differences in whatâs being sent would help us narrow it down.
