Updating from 1.2.04 to 1.3.01

Keep getting a pop-up asking if I want to update to 1.3.01 and although I seem to be able to do so, after I click ‘finish’ it reverts back to 1.2.04. I even did a test, saving a square and circle in 1.3.01 and when I went to open it, it opened in 1.2.04. Is there a fix for this?

Looks to me like you may have installed LightBurn to two different locations.

Forgive my ignorance. How can I check that please?

I’d suggest look at two places:

  1. Check the installed apps in Settings. Ideally you’d have two separate entries there but not sure if that will be the case.
  2. Right-click on the icon that you’re using the launch LightBurn. Then do “Open File Location”. This will bring-up an explorer window with the shortcut to launch the application. Right-click on the icon and go to Properties. Check the “Target” location. If it’s not the default then it’s likely that the update is not overwriting the installation.

Here’s default Target location:
“C:\Program Files\LightBurn\LightBurn.exe”
