Hello- I am new to the laser engraving / cutting world and so far I have enjoyed it, however I have one issue that makes my projects take extra long. For example, If I input a measurement that is 13.5” x 4.75” the item cut will be considerably smaller in fact almost 20% smaller. i’m sure I have a setting that is incorrect, but for the life of me, I just cannot find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Probably your steps/mm value set in the firmware does not fit. If you command the laser to move 100mm in each direction, does that work? Make sure you have set all units to mm in LightBurn, if your factor is 2.54, it can also be a mm-inch-conversion problem.
If you’re importing SVG files, the difference between 72 DPI and 96 DPI is 25%.
You can fix that in Edit → Settings → File Settings by making it match whatever program generates the SVGs.
