I didn’t see this specific issue mentioned previously, please forgive me if it was and I didn’t find it using the search function.
I’ve been using my xTool D1 10w with LB for over a year now and am fairly familiar with the processes I need to use.
Normally I run using absolute coords but I needed to work differently for this particular item, a large wooden flag with braces that would block laser movement if it went too far.
I created a new file, edited as needed, set to USER ORIGIN so it would not try to home and moved forward to framing.
Every time I’ve had to do this in the past, it would frame from where the laser currently is. After the run was complete, it would stop where it started from. That was what I needed it to do.
This time, I needed to move the graphic a bit so it would be correctly placed and this is what occurred:
Verified USER ORIGIN
Ran framing
Noted graphic needed moved
Moved graphic on screen
Hit the circle trace again and the laser tried to home itself
Snapped off the air assist nozzle
insert brief vulgarity here
Got all craziness stopped and checked settings -
It had reverted to Absolute Coords again.
No, I didn’t accidentally click anything.
So I raised the laser high enough to clear any obstacles and did it again to see what would happen. It tried to home itself once more after repeating the process.
Finally I was able to get it to stay on USER ORIGIN and do the engraving.
Is there a setting somewhere that I’m missing that would take it to absolute coords from user origin automatically when adjusting the graphic to be run? I feel like this may well be user error, but I can’t figure out how or what else to check.
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
