Using text to path - path is part of existing design - text is upside down

I have an existing design that I am trying to add text to using the text to path option. When I do, the text is upside down and backwards. I have even duplicated the section of the design where the text will go so that I can alter the starting point of that line, but the text is still wrong. I understand being able to manipulate the path to alter the text, but since this path is part of an existing design that is not an option. Ideas?

Here’s one technique but it can’t be used in LightBurn as far as I know.

If this is an SVG file then open in Inkscape or other vector illustration tool. Select the line where this is occurring and then reverse the direction of the line.

Then import back into LightBurn.

In Inkscape Reverse is found in Path->Reverse.

Alternatively, you could try to recreate the line in LightBurn and use the new line instead of the existing line.

I did that - sort of - I broke the line at two places - before and after where I want the text, and duplicated just that section. That let me reverse the direction but reversing the direction doesn’t seem to make any difference.

How are you reversing the direction of the path? LightBurn doesn’t allow for that as far as I know.

Reversing the direction of the set shape start point is different than reversing path direction.

I didn’t understand there was a difference, but this seems to have been the issue - thank you so much!
