Fiber lasers change 1 variable, the optical pump in percentage to effect grayscale marking. The UV simply has 2 variables frequency and pulse width. Software simply needs to allow a Min setting of a certain desired pulse width and frequency … And then a Max setting at a desired pulse width and frequency. Much needed. Texaslasermarking.net
I don’t have a UV, but I have a fiber. They are similar in that they are both pulse lasers not continuous wave (CW) type lasers. Grayscale was created for the cw mode lasers and 3dslice for the pulse type lasers.
We usually use some type of dither to create an image type of result.
