V-carving depth per pass ignored / G-code cut issues — MillMage Pro 0.9.01

Hi everyone,

Two problems with V-carving in MillMage Pro 0.9.01:

  1. Depth Per Pass ignored when “Limit Maximum Depth” is off. The V-bit goes straight to full depth.

2. When Max Depth is on (in my case set at 2 mm), Depth Per Pass works, but the render and G-code are cut in wrong areas (see below letters truncated,T, a and e).

Paths are closed. File attached.

Is this a known bug? Any workaround?

Thanks in advance!

This has been discusses I think, and Lightburn is looking into it. I think there has been some confusion about how V-carve actually works related to tool depth. But again that is too many postings ago for me to remember.

Thank you for the reply, I have researched and could not find a topic on this :frowning:

Try Google, but add “Lightburn” at the end. Not saying this will work here, but I use it a lot.

Both of these issues are now fixed, and should make it into the 9.02 patch tomorrow. Depth per pass is supposed to be respected, and it shouldn’t cut across your paths like that.

Thanks for the quick turnaround. Good to know both issues were bugs and not something on my end. I’ll test the 0.9.02 patch tomorrow and let you know if the Depth Per Pass and the toolpath cuts behave as expected.
