V1.7.08 issue with power settings?

I updated to the latest version as given to my by the software today. And had a customer over to etch some laser leather patches. We’ve done this MANY times in the last few months and I’ve never had a problem.

But today there appears, after the update, to be an issue with power. I have an omtech 20W fiber. We generally ran the patches at 1000mm/s and 35% power. I immediately knew something was wrong because the leather was smoking badly. The laser was just blowing through the leather like it wasn’t even there. We sat and tweaked things over and over again until I had it sitting at 7000mm/sec and 1% power and it was at least ACCEPTABLE, but it was still acting like it was running 40-50% power and getting a result like I was running 1000mm/sec. It’s acting like there’s very little control over the power setting. And this is on files we’ve used in the past and new ones alike. I don’t know what the issue is, but it’s quite suspicious that it happened after upgrading to the latest version. But I also hadn’t ran any of the lleather stuff in a couple weeks so I can’t say 100% that’s the problem. Is there a repository for older versions of the software so I can roll back and test that? Am I the only one seeing this issue?

The very first thing I do after running an update is restore my preferences from prior to the update as windows does not always copy this file, I think it is a timing issue, Lightburn might be doing something with the file while windows is as well.

The devs made a great tool for this. It keeps the last 50 versions of the preferences or ‘prefs’.
