Variable text and "save as ..." does not work as documented

The documentation says that … " Auto-Advance : When this switch is enabled, each time you press one of the ‘Start’, ‘Send’ or ‘Save as…’ buttons in the Laser window, LightBurn will automatically advance the Current value by the ‘Advance by’ amount." [emphasis mine]

There is no “Save as …” button “in the Laser window

I assume the documentation meant to say “or Save GCode” rather than “Save as …” since that does actually update the current value in the variable text window and it actually is a button in the laser window.

I think it would be handy if the “save as …” dialog from the file menu would ask something like “bake in values” or similar so you could save a copy of the project with the values set. If this option is checked, it should update the “current” value in the variable text field. This would be more in line with what the documentation says.

Second, as a feature request, it would be nice if the “bake” button on the variable text window would increment the “current” value. That way you could create & save multiple copies of your project with the values set.

I think that button will be there for DSP controllers. I guess you have a diode and then don’t have that option.

Yes, I have a diode laser.

I’ve passed this along to our docs team for remedying.

If you have a feature request, please make that known over at our Feature Request tool fider.IO
