Variable Text Error

I’m experimenting with variable text. When using Cut settings “d 0r D” expression it always returns 254 regardless of the actual layer setting. The interval displays correctly. Using 1.7.04

Hi Tim, I think something broke during one of the last updates.
Here is my result from a standard variable text message I like to use on my projects.

I think it’s related to to a known problem, which was otherwise solved.
