Version 1.7 capabilities cutting

why am I am not able to cut. I have slowed my engraver, (Sculpfun S30 Ultra 33W) down to 150 and turned up the power to 100 and I am just making a mark on the wood even if I do multiple passes. I even made certain that my S code is matching on the machine and device settings to 10,000. What am I doing wrong?

Are you running in mm/min or mm/sec? You should be mm/min.

I am using mm and all I am getting is the engraving part and not cutting.

Please post a screenshot of your entire Lightburn screen with your project loaded and the Cuts/Layers Panel and Laser Panel visible. Also post a screenshot of the Settings Window (Gears icon) with the Units and Grids tab visible and post a screenshot of the Device Settings Window (Wrench and Screwdriver icon). https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

I have slowed it down and I should be atleast setting fire and it’s not even doing that and all it is doing is engraving and not cutting. What is going on?

Your pictures didn’t load. IT only put a file location, not the photo.

Once again you only have the file path. Use the upload button in the toolbar and you have to wait until the picture loads before clicking reply.

I don’t see anything that jumps out to me on that screen. Post the other screenshots I asked for.

Is this a new to you machine or a new problem on an old machine?

Eric, this is your machine. I brought this to notice because I see you are using OneDrive. There are MANY reports of files lost or corrupted when using cloud based storage. Network Access Storage (NAS) boxes seem to work okay.

Don’t know if both set to 10,000 is a problem. The usual is eighter 1000 or 255.
Also have you checked and cleaned your lens?
You also might want to run it in lasergrbl and see if you still have the problem.
Finally, this link shows what a good laser beam looks like.
