TL;DR: LB gives a warning about losing tabs when you change a layer to a tool layer, but not when changing to a different layer. LB Version 1.5.06
Long story: I was making a sheet of small gift tags, and I use tabs because I also want to do the other side and it’s easier that way. But, the laser messed up part way through when marking them, skipped a couple of mm on the x axis, so one row was wasted. Now, what I chose to do about this was to split the array up into three sections. I was only marking them on this run, since I like to refocus and turn on the air for cutting. So, the first part, I set the outline to a different layer. The damaged part, I set it to a tool layer, the last part, I left it as is. Plan was to cut the last part first, since that would still be aligned, rehome the laser, then cut the first part, which should now be aligned as it was originally.
This all worked as planned, but there was a problem. When I cut the first part, they all dropped out; the tabs were gone.
Now, when I changed the damaged row to a tool layer I was given a warning that my tabs would be lost. No problem, I’ll not be cutting that anyway. But I wasn’t given any such warning when I changed the first part to a different layer. This seems like an oversight.
