Weak Engraving Today (but never before)

Hello!
I am suddenly having an issue getting my engrave to work properly. (I engraved a ton for the last 2 months and all was well).
I’m using a Ruida controller with a 60W Mira 7 laser.
The cuts are perfect. I’ve cleaned the lenses & mirrors. But I believe it’s an issue with my design as it’s not looking correct on the controller display. (see photos)
Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I will also attach the file.

What result are you after, can you show us an example of what you want this to look like when correctly produced?

Your blue layer is set to ‘Fill’ with a wide interval for the size, which is why you are getting these gaps in the fill.

Ahh so I should close the interval?
I can try that.
I’m looking for one smooth line all the way around. This is a part of a miniature corbel.

If you are looking for a line, instead of trying to use a fill it’s possible a line operation would work better in that case. If so, you may want to remove one set of lines unless you’re specifically looking for a double line look.

I’m not sure I know how to do that.
The desired effect is like it has been sculpted.

In that case the double line might be desirable. Try switching the operation to line and take a zoomed in look in Preview. See if that’s the burn that you want.

If you don’t want that look and you want only a single line then for this design the easiest approach would probably be to select a portion of the design at a time and do an Arrange->Break Apart. Then zoom in, select and delete the portion of the design you want to remove.

You can rejoin the individual segments by selecting the parts that should be joined and then doing Edit->Auto-join selected shapes.

Thanks! I can try the your other recommendations as I play around with it. For now, the lowering of the interval and bumping the power is creating the effect I want.
Thanks to you both!
