Welding issue when shapes are rotated

Hello. i create an item with several shapes.
i copy and past it and rotate it.
When i want to Weld them ( one item by one item) the first one work well, the rotated one not.

I was also able to recreate this, and I have raised it as a submission.

addendum - I have subsequently learned that shape abutment isn’t sufficient to guarantee a weld, especially following a rotation where the geometry of abutted shapes will change.

As @LightBurn_Oz says in the next post, the shapes must overlap to guarantee a weld. So I would say your option is to weld the shapes before rotation, or to zoom right in an ensure they overlap.

That’s not a bug. Weld requires that shapes overlap. Shapes with shared edges are not guaranteed to weld correctly.

If you make the smaller rectangles overlap the larger shape even slightly, the weld will work at any orientation.
