Welding shapes troubles

Hello,

I am trying to weld two shapes, one comes from other project and the second one is a circule that I am trying to weld with the first one, I select the circule then shift and select the other shape click weld and nothing happens, please provide me with clue. Thank you

Use a right to left (green) drag box to select both at the same time.

Hi Jim unfortunately it did not do it

There is no need to mark both at once … it works also if you select one after the other pressing “shift”-key constantly

Even if one of the elements is grouped or even if they are not all from the same layer …

If you want, you can upload your lbrn2-file here, so we can have a lock at it.

Alternativly: use boolean operation instead of welding

Thank you!

Thank you for uploading your file

Ah, now I see the mistake: The bird consists of individual lines. These are grouped, but not connected to form a closed figure.
Therefore:

  1. First make the bird a closed figure using “close path” and then
  2. Use the weld or boolean operation

I’ve only closed the bird for you here using the “auto join selected shapes” function.
To do this, you first have to ungroup it.
I’ll leave the welding up to you, because I don’t know exactly where you want the egg.
