All of my circles have a bar across them. The bar is a different color than the circle vector, but is on the same layer. The bar does not show up in the preview or affect the laser operation. Also, the vectors all seem to have nodes displayed, even though I am not in the node tool.
Windows 11, Lightburn 1.7.08 (Problem showed up with previous version)
Is your project a native LB creation, or did you import it from an outside program or source?
Not possible in Lightburn. In the Cuts / Layers window, right-click on the layer color and it will flash all the lines on that layer.
Please upload the .lbrn2 file that shows this. I am sure the developers will want to see that. And I would too.
I opened Lightburn and reloaded the file. The problem has disappeared! ?? The only record I have of it now is the screenshot.
I have opened and closed the file and worked on it previously numerous times over about 2 weeks and it always had the problem. Now that I want a copy to show it, the bars are no longer there. I have no explanation. I’ll make a point of saving the file with the bars if it happens again.
I’m afraid I didn’t keep track of all of the things I have done recently with the file. Most of the recent changes I made involved relocating the parts for best use of the material.
I did “Remove Duplicates” a couple of times. I had previously used the fileting tool, and it didn’t always work. In the process, duplicates seem to have been added.
I have made the file myself completely within Lightburn. The bars just showed up one day. I don’t recall doing anything unusual before they did.
The pink lines are shown if you go to Help>Debug drawing with the objects selected, I suspect that’s how you got them to appear. In my example, I have disabled the bounding box:
I give up. What are those lines on my circles telling me?
I’m not sure, it’s not mentioned in the documentation: Enable Debug Log - LightBurn Documentation
@LightBurn what do the pink lines in debug drawing mode represent?
If you uncheck Debug Prim, the chords on the circles go away. Yeah, a Helpful Hints document would be handy…
This specific setting isn’t saved, and it’s intended as a debug only option for the developers. Re-running the app clears it, and it’s not something we expect anyone to turn on.
I can say with certainty that a “helpful hints” document would contain a TON of stuff before you got to the “if you have a pink line across your circles…” bit, so it honestly wouldn’t be a very useful addition.
The pink line is showing the drawing primitive that “closes” the shape, if present.
Ok, but I will still be curious. Being a former programmer, “debug” got my attention.
What do you mean by “Re-running the app”? I am not familiar with how one “Re-runs” an application. Step by step instructions would be appreciated.
@FixitMike, I believe this means closing LightBurn, then starting LightBurn again, anew.
