Tried to upgrade yesterday to 1.0.05, kept failing and I had to physically shut down the COM Surrogate. Then it failed on another matter that it couldn’t get past. So I cancelled the update and closed the window, and started it again, and this time it went through. Same thing happened with 1.0.06 today. Is this going to be a regular issues? (I wish I could remember what the second issues was that stopped the install). Thanks.
Did you open up the desktop lightburn update file when you downloaded the update
It does seem like there are a subset of people that have update issues like this but there are a lot of others including me that haven’t seen this. I know there are some known issues with lbfiledialog.exe and potentially virus scanners that are being investigated.
If you have a situation that’s very repeatable the LightBurn folks may be interested in getting details from you.
We are definitely interested! How can we fix a thing without the details? 
We have had a few reports and any further observation are helpful, the more detailed the better, and if you can provide the steps to reproduce, that is even better still. Glad to hear you got the update working.
I was having issues installing the 1.0.06 update but after I rebooted my Windows 10 computer everything installed correctly.
Of course, both times. I don’t update from a site, I download it, then run from my own computer.
And I gave one detail: the COM Surrogate issue. Why are people saying I’m not giving any details? That’s happened multiple times trying to update the last two versions.
This statement is probably the question.
The COM Surrogate issue I believe is tied to auto backups.

Well, as I stated… I wish I could remember, but the next time I tried it to note the point where it stopped, it updated and went past that point (on the third attempt to update). Otherwise, I would have stated specifically. I’m not trying to be vague, I’m just saying that the COM issue was redundant, and the other one happened twice on each attempt to update, but I forgot what it said… thanks
