Why is My Lightburn cutting, before filling even though i have the cut below the fill?

Hi, I have set up my printer to do a tag. I have put the name in the middle and a stat in each corner. I have set it up to print the name then cut the stars and finally cut the outline. but when i click print, it does the opposite and cuts the outline first. what is happening. Thanks in advance for any assistance

In order for us to see what you’re seeing, please post a screenshot (not a cell phone pic) of your entire Lightburn screen with your project loaded and the Cuts/Layers Panel and Laser Panel visible. Also post a screenshot of the Optomization settings from the Laser Panel.

Hi Tim, I was doing the Screen shots as you asked, When i went into Optimization settings to take a screenshot I saw a reset to default. Clicked that and checked to see if it worked. It Did, Thanks for putting me in the area I needed to look. Much Appreciated

This reset brings the layout of your LightBurn workspace to its original state and has no effect on the order of your layers. Many people, myself included, use the red layer as a cut layer and place it last in the layer collection of a project, you can use the arrow keys to change the position of the layer in the list.

If he had inadvertantly removed order by layer at some point, or placed it in a different order within optomization settings, it would affect the layer cut order, which is what I expected to see in a screenshot. Unfortunately, since he didn’t take and post a before screenshot, we will never know what those settings were.

Mmm, that’s of course also an option, I didn’t even realize that one was an optional option. Always nice, a different set of eyes looking at the problem :eyes:
