Why is preview time 2 or 3 times more than actual time?

This is with a G2 Pro 30 watt fiber laser. The preview normally shows time 3 or more times as long as actual engraving time. With the OLM3 10 watt diode laser the times were fairly close, but with this fiber laser there is no comparison - why?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you set, in the last tab of laser settings, the speeds etc for preview?

Shucks, I never even thought about looking there. I guess now see where it does make a difference. I was thinking the speed the engraving was set for (right side of “cuts/Layers” box would determine the preview speed. I had noticed that didn’t seem to be right, but never dug into it enough to understand.

Do I understand to get a decent estimate of engraving time to show in preview, the speeds in the “Edit>Device Settings>Additional Settings” tab should be set to the max speeds of the laser, say 3,000mm/s and the preview would pull the actual settings (speed, interval) from the “Cuts/Layers” box to get an approximate estimate of engraving time?

Thank you for the response - it’s helped me understand more.
