Won't frame or laser

I’m new to this so here it goes. I’m using a ortur with a 15w laser in windows. I was able to cut and engrave about six pictures then all of a sudden lightburn won’t frame anything correctly , just stays in the beginning corner no matter where I put the graphic.
The next thing is it keeps telling me everything is out of bounds or it says there is a problem sending data to the laser. And the machine may be busy or paused.
Thanks for anybody’s help and I hope I posted this in the right area

You’re good, you did post in the right place. You might find this post lengthy but helpful in ensuring you are working with their latest firmware.

We also have @OrturTech as a member here who has responded to other Ortur owners with issues as well.

Out of Bounds is telling you that the job is going to try and go outside the defined working area of your system. Move job toward the center more and check your over scanning settings which control travel beyond a burning point to change direction. This can also kick out this warning.

Losing comms with your laser would indicate loose or bad connection points or cables. Check that you are working with a known-good USB cable and it is plugged in all the way. This could also indicate potential electronic interference from other devices close by or on the same circuit, so worth checking these things as well.

Let us know the results and we can go from there.

Thanks for your help. I went ahead and changed the cable which seemed to fix the data problem and engraving, now the problem that I’m having is the picture is on the grid in one spot but the engraver wants to engrave at the start corner, or if I stop the machine then it wants to move in the middle but no where near where its at on the grid. I’m sure its a button I have to turn on somewhere but I can’t find it.

I share the following as it is good review material and can help you understand how to define where a job starts and finishes based on your settings. https://lightburnsoftware.github.io/NewDocs/CoordinatesOrigin.html

This is also worth reading as it walks through an entire yet simple project to offer a solid overview of how things work in LightBurn. https://lightburnsoftware.github.io/NewDocs/SimpleProject.html

After looking at these, fire back if you are still having issues producing what you want.

Everything was working good before the cable went bad and I had somehow hit it to current. I changed everything and all is working well again. I guess I need to stop staying up late and playing with settings
