I have a gray and blue 50 wat laser with a ruida controler.
i have a 500 by 300 bed size.
i tried to adjust the step size on the y axes in machine settings and now everything is messed up . i saved the setting before the change , and reloaded it but it is still messed up .
i dont know how to get it back to normal. i have included my settings. if anyone can tell me what is wrong and what to do it would be greatly appreciated .
I don’t know anything at all about your controller and I’m not exactly sure what you mean but l would look at your Y Maximum Travel (mm) that’s set to 2500. If your X is correct at 500 then Y should be 300 I would think.
Thanks a lot. I did not catch that. I took a few times to wright it back but my machine is back to normal.
Make sure you make a backup that works this time … Should have been the first thing you did upon the machines arrival.
What issue prompted you to change steps?
First let ne say there is no need to start off with a snooty remark about a backup that WORKS. ITS Hard to tell if you made a good backup until you need it.
A better way to start would be to informe me as to how ,to make a good backup. Now , if you know how to make a good working backup that information would be well appreciated. Thanks. …
It was a remark about when you get it to work, save that configuration… or steps along the way… It’s too easy to forget what you changed and to what… I’m sorry you took it wrong.
The screenshots on your post clearly have ‘save’, ‘load’, ‘read’ and ‘write’ icons.
Since these are in the photo you posted, I erroneously assumed you saw them, so excuse me for being not too bright.
Good luck
You’re not wrong. Jack, @jkwilborn is a well meaning fellow. He’s not the snooty type. There is a short-hand noun-substitution in his statement that seems to have caused this misunderstanding. Please don’t be offended by his brevity or his enthusiasm. He’s a prolific regular.
Sory i took it the wrong way. i was very frustrated because i did hit the save button before making a change. i dont know why it did not work.
All i did was hit calibrate axis tab and put in the numbers fore the y axis. then everything went wrong.
It’s easy to get frustrated… Keep that in mind on any future posts/emails …
Relax have a cup of something and think about it…
Good luck
