I do not know why the x axis is reverse for light burn but is correct in GBRL. Is there a way to change the direction?
What is your machine origin set to in Edit->Device Settings?
It should be lower left for your machine.
yes it is lower left.
Do the jog controls work correctly? Left moves left, right moves right, etc?
How do burns turn out? Are they also reversed?
Y axis is correct X axis is reversed. Burns are reversed on the x axis.
Is this a modified machine?
Have you changed any GRBL settings in the past?
This configuration should be correct for stock NEJE lasers.
Can you take a screenshot of full LightBurn with design loaded.
Also a photo of the burn.
This can happen if you give Lightburn the wrong home… getting into the wrong quadrant.
This is a completly new set up. have only tried to do a test pattern that did not come out.
no changes were made at all. GRBL jogs correctly, lightburn does not.
With my cnc if i want to change the direction of an axis you just go to configuration select the axis and can change the direction. Why can that not be done here.
No reason that I know of, but it’s not right.
Make sure you ‘save’ a copy of the factory configuration before you meddle with it. You can do it in the ‘Edit → Machine Settings’.
Might give it a try and see if it works. All it can do is go the wrong way somewhere.
It can be changed. However, the concern is that you’re getting different behavior in LaserGRBL. If things were “correct” they should behave the same way between the two.
I suspect something else is going on.
If you want to try inverting the X-axis you’re free to do so as @jkwilborn has indicated. This means that LaserGRBL will then be “broken”.
