Is there a LightBurn feature request or suggestion area?
With LB and the xTool S1, the safety feature for the open lid kicks in for every operation. For instance, opening the lid post job but fan still running will shut the machine down. Similarly you can’t frame etc with the lid open. with XCS the lid open event will only interupt a burn operation which is ideal. Not sure if this is a lightburn thing or a xTool firware thing…

Yes, I thought it might be. The confusing bit is that in XCS it only stops the S1 if it’s actually firing the laser so their software must deal with it differently to LightBurn.
I am assuming the machine loads one firmware or the other (geocode) depending on the connection. So is possible the safety features do not reflect equally between both
However, maybe is something important to document for future checklists on compatibility. Let me tag @JohnJohn and @Colin
We’ve seen a literal double standard with xTool Firmware feature development between XCS and GCode.
I won’t suggest over-riding or modifying any piece of safety equipment… because that would expose LightBurn to liability.
Personally, I might be inclined to turn a door switch off in Firmware or override the behavior temporarily to diagnose a problem. 
I really can’t speak to these hypothetical things.
Emm. Hypothetically I have no idea how to do that!
I’ll live with it for now. I’ll just have to be patient and wait for the fan to stop before I get my project out 
Might be a good idea to also reach out to Xtool about this and open a ticket or write in the support forum.
its possible they are not aware of it… but if they are… nothing wrong with some “positive nudging”
