I am using a Mac Air, with a new 1Laser XT. I am new to Lightburn, but not lasers. I am unable to successfully cut/engrave on 3mm birch. I continue to get Y and X overscan, and X buffer errors. I have worked with 1Laser Tech Support, but am still having issues. I have the origin set to top left in the grid. My design is more than 30mm from the sides/top/bottom. I’d appreciate any help that you can provide. #Overscan #Buffer #X #Y
That may not be enough, depending on how fast the layer runs.
Is that the corner where the laser head homes when you turn the machine on? Most likely that’s correct, because if it wasn’t you’d likely notice the engravings come out backwards across at least one axis.
As a quick check on overscan:
- Update LightBurn’s simulation settings to match the controller settings
- Use the
Preview
window to simulate the laser motion - In the
Preview
window, set theShow traversal moves
switch On
Then, if any of the red lines showing the overscan region hit the green rectangle showing the machine limits, that’s where the overscan error(s) come from.
If that’s not the case, then upload the offending lbrn2
file so we can look over your shoulder.
