Z axis movement

Hi I’m new to co2 laser I have a OMTech polar running but can’t get the z axis to work. I can move it manually with the buttons but when I load a program the z axis does not come down also when I press the focus button the z axis just comes down and stays down. I was hoping someone would be able to give me some advice as to what I’m doing wrong

There should be a setting in the controller to enable/disable focus.

Thank you for your reply it’s really appreciated would that be a setting on lightburn or do I need to find a driver to install on lightburn ?

Short answer is (in LightBurn) to look under Edit | Machine Settings | Miscellaneous for the field called “Focus Enabled”. That needs to be verified as set to “True”.

Since you’re a newbie, might I suggest you look through the LightBurn Documentation when you have a quiet evening. It’s a really good place to start as are the YouTube videos.
All else fails, don’t be afraid to ask here. There’s a plethora of folks that are always willing to help!
