Z-Axis problems with Ruida controller

I’m not sure what category for this question. Today I calibrated the Z-Axis in LightBurn so that I can use the software to raise and lower the bed. When I did the calibration, LightBurn changed the Step Length from 6.432 to 1.92802. Within the software it worked perfectly. Up 1" was equal to 1"… however, when I went to the keypad on my Ruida controller, it no longer works. The motor make a straining sound and the bed doesn’t move at all. Back on LightBurn, it still works. When I changed the Step Length back, now it works on the keypad, but in LightBurn, when set to move 1" it moves .154".

Any Ideas?

Most likely, the acceleration or jog speed in the controller is too high. Back them both down by a factor of ten, which will be too much, but at least it should move; if not, cut by another factor of ten. Then you can double the speed until it fails, cut it in half, and work on the acceleration.

The step variation is so large that something seems wrong, unless the Z axis was never calibrated to begin with.
