I m using Lightburn with a Neje Max 4 as a pen plotter. I am plotting the same text on multiple objects and I raise the Z axis by 2mm between letters using the Z offset in the layer settings.
When one object is finished, I need to raise Z by 5mm to clear the hold-down mechanism I built. How can I accomplish this?

I never needed this, but my approach would be to add the device as custom gcode machine and override the power commands by adding the z-axis movement commands before and after.
What about making a Layer with the shape of your hold down and set the Z height with clearance.
It would have to run the Layer but if the shapes simple and you set top speed it be a minor headache.
I have a a Max4 as well and have done a few things with the Z.
