My name is Dave and I am less-than-a-year retired LGV Tech. Always thought my retirement hobby would be a saw mill…had it for about six years.

After collecting my pick of the hardwood trees from an 1800s-1900s neighborhood that was cleared for a highway……I still have more sawn wood than I’m likely to ever use.

Then my daughter buys a laser engraver for her craft business. As I was helping her set it up, I got bugbit!!! Just to make sure, I bought the entry level Sculpfun S6 Pro. Been having lots of fun engraving pieces for her inventory and neighbors and family and just about anybody who oohs and ahhs at an engraving.

Ever heard of river birch? Oh my, the only wood that I have very little of but it is my absolute favorite, so far. I just sawed up a monkey ear tree though, so I’ll reserve favorite status until it dries and I get it on the Sculpfun.
