Hi, my name is Jack. I started building computers when I was 14. I am now 49. I started programming micro controllers over 20 years ago to control Christmas lights and sync them to music. I started my own Home Automation with the PICaxe chip, the Basic Stamp boards, and Arduinos. I used a Raspberry Pi to build my RC lawn mower. I run Arch Linux on my main computer. I have a rack mount server at my house running Proxmox. It is loaded with the VMs I need now, like Home Assistant for home automation, Windows 10 and 11 for Fusion 360 and Vectric Vcarve. I run a Linux Mint VM for my file server and Plex server. It also holds my Home Lab setup with Kali and ParrotOS as I like to play with network and computer security.
I am a maker with a 22watt diode laser, a 60watt CO2 laser, and a 100watt fiber laser. I have 4 3D printers. I 3D printed my first CNC machine, the MPCNC. I still have the MPCNC and now a Longmill MK1 CNC router. I converted my Longmill to go back and forth from router to plasma in under a minute.
