Hi. I am a retired engineer (fitter turner) and I have copious amounts of spare time to learn new stuff, you are never too old! I might take my doddering auld brain longer than most to catch on but I get there in the end. Having played about 3d printing and building a cnc router I decided to aquire a laser cutter/engraver. I am only just getting to grips with it and so far have has more failures than successes! I also have a small lathe and a small milling machine. My main interests lie in building model steam engines and boilers and model boat building, my fleet being 50% warships and 50% steam boats. Hopefully I will master Lightburn and my Ortur laser and be able to make model boat parts or even whole models, time will tell. My latest aquisition is a small furnace to melt brass, bronze etc, laser and 3D printer ideal for pattern making.
