Hobby laserist! Might try to make a go of this to try making some money with it.
Chinesium/OMTech K40 laser that I bought used on E-Bay. It worked fine at the onset, but I’m a computer tech that can’t leave well enough alone, so I’ve already modified it.
I did the MilliAmp meter modification.
Removed bed, in the process of replacing with a manual adjusted expanded steel bed on top of a 4" lab jack (work in progress)
I tried the K40 Whisperer and got it to work but it was a bit cumbersome and most of the tutorials refer to Lightburn… so…
I downloaded MeerK40t and a copy of Lightburn to try it out, seemed to work with lines but not with fill mode.
Decided to replace the board with the AwesomeTech MG3, and while I was at it purchased Lightburn through them as it seemed to be the same price.
I installed the MG3 and have been binging on LA Hobby Guy tutorials!
Burning a lot of wood and have been engraving some slate coasters.
Still trying to gather supplies for the air assist, it should be here in a couple days.
