1.3.00 There was a problem sending data to the laser

I just installed the latest Lightburn 1.3.00 update and I am getting the “problem sending data to the laser” error. I am using a Snapmaker A 350 and everything was fine until the upgrade. The machine is connected through USB and communicating with the laser. I can control it by typing Gcode into the console but none of the regular laser controls work. Frame, Home, and Origin do nothing and when I hit Play I get the data send error. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m about ready to uninstall the update but I don’t want to lose my machine settings.

Thank you and yes, we are aware. We just posted this to the top of the forum for others to see.

Hi LightBurners! We’re aware of a communications issue with GCode devices with the recently released version 1.3.00. At this very moment we’d suggest NOT upgrading LightBurn while we await a fix to be pushed.

As always, you can downgrade LightBurn from our releases archive here: Releases · LightBurnSoftware/deployment · GitHub

This post will be updated as needed with more details. Thank you for your patience.

You can downgrade to a previous release without loosing your settings.

I’m glad it wasn’t me, it was driving me crazy? Will I need to reinstall my machine settings if I downgrade?

Just download and install, all should be preserved.

I just did that and it is working again. Thank you

fix has been posted, you can try again now

how do i know what version I previously had ? I’m having the same problem. i tried 1 of them and the laser power isnt the same.

You don’t even have to downgrade - you can just re-download 1.3.00 and re-install it. A piece of code got pulled into this release that wasn’t intended to be, and wasn’t ready, but that was quickly pulled and updates have been posted.
