1.7.00 Beta Issues

I have downloaded the new 1.7.00 Beta and now I have found even more issues than with 1.5.6.

  1. Number alignment still off. (still shifted to the right on all my files)

  2. Now when you use offset shapes it makes the offset shape with flat surfaces (segments) instead of one smooth linear line. See below.

These are only the items I have found so far. I have checked all my settings and nothing has changed except the revision of the release to 1.56 to 1.7.0. Both of them have issues still. I will be going back to 1.4 release as I never had an issue with anything. Please let me know if you find a resolution.
Thank you.

This would be expected for an early beta release.

Can you upload a sample .lbrn file where this is occurring?

You can just make a randonm circle in lightburn then apply offset and that is the result.

I cannot reproduce your results so wanted to see if the flat segments were in the file itself or if it was something only being done on display.

Could you go to ‘Help > Generate Support Data’ and PM that to me?

Under ‘Window’ in the toolbar, what do you have selected for the view style?

This offset thing also happened to me once with 1.3.01. I closed and reopened Lightburn and couldn’t replicate it.

That offset behavior will happen when offsetting very small curved objects — and the circle in the original screenshot looks very small based on the measurements showing on the screen.

It will be more or less pronounced depending on whether you have a high or low Curve Tolerance set in your preferences (Edit > Settings > File Settings > Curve Tolerance is at the bottom). The Offset preview will also look more jagged than the finished result in most cases, especially if you select Optimize/Simplify results.
