Hi Seth
Thank you for reporting this issue.

Could you regress to 1.7.06 and confirm if the laser fires on the frame?

If your Longer B1 (40W) isn’t firing the laser when framing after updating to 1.7.07, try these quick fixes:

  1. Enable Fire Button – In LightBurn, go to Edit > Device Settings and turn on “Enable Laser Fire Button”.
  2. Check Power Setting – Make sure the laser power isn’t set to 0% when framing.
  3. Restart & Reconnect – Unplug the USB 3.0, restart both the laser and your PC, then reconnect.
  4. Update Firmware & Drivers – Check if your Longer B1 firmware needs an update.
  5. Test Fire Manually – Set a low power (1%) and click Fire in LightBurn to see if it works.

I find I avoid a lot of problems other people are reporting by whenever I do an update I reload preferences from prior to the update, Windows seems to consistantly have problems correctly copying the preferences file.

regressed to x.06 and the laser fires on framing

Hi Seth Thank you

Let me ask this please
Go to - File > Preferences > Bundle
Export bundle

Could you send the file to support@lightburnsoftware.com please?

Additionally, are you using GRBL or a Custom GRBL device?

didn’t see this message …after i uninstalled or regressed to x.06, ran my test, then i went ahead and re-installed x.07 ran a test and it worked… do you still need the bundle export?

If you are using a Custom Gcode profile, yes please.
Otherwise we can call this a false alarm

nothing custom here yet… still quite a novice with a larger technology background then i would admit

Great news!
And never worry on reporting things. We would rather it be a false alarm than go unreported  Thank you

I also had the same problem with the new version after I installed it would not score and when I tried to cut it acted like I was half power. I also rolled back to .06 worked and worked fine than installed .07 again and it worked fine. Not sure if it’s a windows 10 issue running a Sculpfun S30

hthi all,I just my GM 60w mopa laser the software that came with it seaCad BSL drivers, installed it tested to see if my 60w worked , fine. open it up with LB , all works except the framing dose not show in lightburn, I can hear the mirrors moving but no out line show when framing. it has a JPT source unit.plz help , thank Darryltps://forum.lightburnsoftware.com/t/mp-gm60w-laser-bsl-controller/167225/5

So nice to do the beta-testing for Lightburn.

just an FYI, did a few projects - and went to frame something up again… and guess what - no laser was fired again…this is odd.
