100watt triumph co2 laser controller swap

Don’t over engineer this conversion… You have everything here that you should need to hook it up to the newer Ruida…

Status probably enables the fan… Status goes low (sinks) when the machine is in run mode. Wind goes low if it’s in run mode and the executing layer has air assist enabled…

It was probably working fine with this other Chinese controller… probably works the same way…

Somewhere the optical isolator/ttl circuits needs to get 5V, usually available in many places…

If you are going to remove it… use an solid state device.

I haven’t used mechanical relays for a couple of decades… replaced so many I don’t want to see another one… You can do a better job with a solid state relay (ssr). No mechanical contacts, switches only a zero voltage… much better for equipment…

I use this one from Amazon

Use the KISS principle and just swap it out, probably control line for control line…

Assume you have a voltmeter if we need to ask for anything?

Ask if you have questions, we are here…

Good luck

Thanks everyone, im thinking of using the 5v on the board as. sorry the site limited my reply’s the first day

ok guys thanks for everyone’s help. got a lot of wiring to neaten up but it’s on and moving and connecting to lightburn. had to change the steps so it would move the entire bed. worried i’m missing some settings. i will attach pictures of my old controller settings. if you guys see anything that jumps out to change let me know. the height adjust is moving backwards i noticed

any ideas?

I’d question maximum laser power of 65%…

Have you entered these values into the Ruida?

:smile_cat:

nope it was my old controller had it dialed in so i wouldn’t use to much power. is that not how u do it. doing that kept me at save mah at 100 percent

also my z touch is backwards no idea why

If you set the lps to what your maximum current is, then the percentage power will match what you use in Lightburn…

:smile_cat:

morning everyone. so two questions. one my z table is moving backwards when i tough the key and when i go to autofocus. also any idea where the chinese lasers get 5v for the red dot lasers. i have new tube coming with aiming dot that needs 5v and want to put a switch between the two?

Most of these have a 5V supply available somewhere… Many times it will be incorporated with the 24V supply…

Ensure you know the current limitations of the supply and how much current you need. Many lps have a 5V output, but it’s limited to 20mA, generally.

Did you get one with an internal led, so it’s factory aligned?

When I replace me tube I looked at that… haven’t had a pointer since about a month or less after my machine arrived…

Good luck

:smile_cat:

yes i got the spt 100watt tube with it aligned i hope lol

I sure looked at them… If I remember correctly, I wanted a 40W tube, not something that was >60W and these didn’t appear on the lower wattage tube… It’s been so long (> 1nS) I don’t remember…

Please report on how it works out…

Good luck

:smile_cat:

morning anyone have any ideas how to reverse the z table?

It’s complicated, because there are three settings that operate in conjunction; you must get all of them right before it “works”.

I pulled together several of the discussions here into a blog post that summarizes the complete setup process:

If that doesn’t get it running properly, let us know what went wrong and we can probably confuse you even more …

Just swap wires to one of the coils on the stepper (Assuming they are 4 wire motors). That will make it run in the opposite direction.

True, but that doesn’t ensure a good configuration, because the homing direction and the keypad direction need not match. In addition, that will produce a machine with one motor different than the others, which inevitably leads to heartache and confusion later on.

If the axis currently homes correctly (which seems to be the case), reversing the motor leads is mmmm a step in the wrong direction.

Thanks everyone swapping the wires did the trick.
