It is mentioned that if you purchase a license, you are allowed to install the software on 2 computers. Will it work if one pc is a 64 bit system and the other is a 32 bit system, or do I need to purchase a license for each system ?

Yes, that will work fine. You can use any combination of machine OS and 32/64 bit.
