3D effect veneer pattern

I was playing with LB settings to get tight fitting veneer pieces for a panel.
Using only rectalinear pieces, I could dial in the kerf offset for proper length, then tweak the heights to further adjust for the rectangular beam shape.

Parts positioned for cutting:

veneered to a 1/4 BB plywood panel for a framed lid:

built into a jewelry box, about 11"x10"x4" with a lower drawer.
White Oak, walnut, and Bolivian Rosewood (Pao Fero)

For marquetry and inlay images painted with your veneers and output to Lightburn with correct kerf offsets, consider Image Paint.

Very intriguing Travis, thanks for the link!
I gave up my Adobe products when they went subscription, but this gives me ideas at least for some roadblocks I’ve been having. Choosing the right wood type to get the colors and effects I need is a chore, but I could scan them and play around with colors and textures before cutting.
Geometric stuff is easy now, plants, and critters are much tougher as the intricate details are a real challenge.
I use trial and error currently, this was just finished to see if I could get some good color, no concerns for fit as that is a whole 'nother dimension. The curly sycamore (green) does well for the leafs, other colors are “meh”. Flowers could be a lot brighter, whole thing has a post-apocalypse vibe!
