3D Slice - Different results: same laser, same pc, same image, same settings

I have a simple grey-scale image. I am running a 3d slice setting. I have two files running the same image, same settings, same fibre laser, same pc. Everything identical but I get very different results. One appears to scan at a lower speed and stronger setting than the other. But everything else is the same. I have check device settings, settings, quadruple check the layer setting.

Any thoughts any one.

LightBurn 1.7.08

Nope, the crystal ball doesn’t show any difference. Maybe if you could possibly upload a photo or two, if it’s not too much trouble.

My fortune teller is out of town.

Different material thickness resulting in different focus? Or material from a different batch?

I have looked at the simulations; the one what produces what looks like faster but less penetrating passes scans Left-to-right as one might expect. The one that produces slower but more penetrating passes is cutting in a circlar (well sort of octagonal pattern). I can find a setting would cause this. The former result I expect but the latter is the effect I am after.

Any thoughts why Lightburn would approach lasering in a different manner?

The two settings:

A slightly clearer view of what appears to be the slower passes. I guess is appears slow and cuts deeper because it is doing lots of overlapping “circles”

Different image copied into both files shows the same:

The circles are “wobble mode”

That’s an option for Fill and Offset Fill, but not Line or Image.

Either something is really glitching (unlikely) or you’re just not using the layer you think you’re using.

You can post an entire LB project (.lbrn2). That would help a lot
