3D Slice or Grey Scale Coin Engraving burning too deep

I’m new to coin engraving on Fiber Laser. I’ve been trying to do a 2 sided 3D Slice or Grey scale coin of a Family Crest. I purchased the STL file and converted it to a PNG file. I’ve wasted about 10 coins and still cannot get it to look good to my satisfaction. Its engraving to deep into the coin, but it needs to go that deep in order to see the details of the florish and crest details. I’ve tried several different types of brass coins from Amazon, but they all seem to leave a grey plastic look in the core of the coin. I’m getting really frustrated and I’m trying to make this perfect for a customer who wants a bunch of these coins for a Christmas present. I have a 50 watt MOPA JPT. I’ve been working with a 110 lens. Any suggestions? I reviewed a lot of videos, but for some reason its just not working for me. Thanks in advance.

p.s.: I didn’t add a pic of the coin because it doesn’t show enough of the details of how deep it looks.
