50w JPT Fiber laser error "not connected", stuck on "framing / disconnected" never ready

Trying to get a 50 JPT source fiber laser (Style-CNC ST-J50F) to run on Lightburn. Date on the plate says it’s a 2020 model, and the BJJCZ card is a model LMCV4-FIBER-M.

I could not get EzCad2 to run, kept getting the “cannot find dog” error, gave up on it, a buddy said Lightburn works great on his machine.

Install was a breeze, original driver was removed, LB driver is installed correctly. EzCad2 cfg file from manufacturers thumb drive seems correct…

But when I go to power on the laser, the state never shows “ready” just “framing” and intermittently flashes “disconnected” - at the bottom of the screen it says “error encountered - disconnected”

debug log is just this over and over:

I’ve searched here and reddit and all the posts seem to either never resolve, or the ones that do nothing in them has worked.

What I have tried:

3 computers, Win11 and Win10 and a Windows 8 laptop with multiple USB cables, both with the included cable as well as my own 1m, 5m, and 10m active extender cables. I’ve tried ever combination of USB ports, as well as combinations of what I turn on and/or connect first.

I’ve isolated the CJZ board from the laser frame as well.

I saw one post that suggests a damaged board, which I hope is not the case, as the board does show up in device manager and was quickly identified by Lightburn on install.

Any help is greatly appreciated! I am happy to add any additional information requested.

Also, to add: I have a Trotec laser on the same system, and several 3d printers in the room running on a Raspberry Pi via OctoPi from this same PC - no USB issues on any of them, I’m not in a “noisy” building, we have good power here, etc…

One thing you didn´t tell…
Did you follow Lightburn steps to setup your laser?

Yes, I followed those specific instructions in getting it all set up, other than manually editing the config which was imported from the manufacturers markcfg07 file.

I don’t have any green squares on the ports screen, but from what I can tell that’s not unusual? I don’t know what factory options the machine came with.

The only thing I can sort of understand enough to test on the port screen is that the footswitch doesn’t seem to trigger a change (red/green), but I’m not sure if the squares are displayed in real time or not or how lightburn would handle that?

Maybe @jkwilborn @micrololin or @Albroswift can say something.

This indicates it connecting, but timing out before it can do anything.

I don’t recognize the output, but I run Linux, however it seems that the message is petty clear. It’s not communicating with the control board. You wouldn’t see any active indicators on the device as it’s not talking to Lightburn

Since you changed all the possible hardware… I’d suggest a driver reinstall. I don’t know what else might be a shot…
