Howdy folks!
Does anyone have any input for a 1080P (or better) 5G web cam for your shop? All I have is a slow 2.4g security cam. I know 5g cams are rare or you need a monthly fee, (which I don’t want), but there’s a lot of smart folks on this forum so I figured it doesn’t hurt to ask.

What do you expect to gain with a 5g camera? Image speed is more related to frame rate than the communications protocol. I have watched many videos with a tablet using 2.4g Wifi.
Those cheap security cameras are not meant for streaming use.
5ghz increases total bandwidth and allows higher frame rate to be transmitted, vs the slower speed but longer distance from a 2.4ghz connection. Plus I have killer access to my 5ghz on my mesh. Now if there is a high frame rate, high res camera on 2.4ghz that is reliable and doesn’t require a base station, just need the app, I’m certainly listening.
Sorry, I will not be much help. I searched for 5g cameras when my new cable company router was 5g only. You might be able to get better performance with a USB (like for Zoom) camera if you can use that.
