5mp camera, software won't advance past first step of calibration

I’m using an OV5648 5mp USB camera with a 3d printed housing. The camera is mounted, I’m getting a good calibration score when I take the picture of the dots (.17), but after clicking next and waiting a very long time (10 plus minutes) nothing at all will happen. It shows my entire bed, the camera works just fine with my computer, but within lightburn, nothing will happen past that first step. Does anyone have pointers as to what else I could try? I have restarted the computer and disconnected and reconnected the camera in hopes that those things would help, and they haven’t. I’m using software version 1.0.06.

What happens after you’ve waited for a long time? Are you getting any sort of error? How do you recover from that situation?

Can you please attach a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

This is what the screen is after many minutes of waiting. No error codes or anything, just a greyed out “next” button.

I think the issue is that you’re doing this on your honeycomb bed. This is a known issue and listed in the documentation. The honeycomb confuses the calibration software.

Cover the bed or do the calibration away from the bed.

Thank you, I’ll cover the bed with something and try again

Even with a white board underneath the paper, nothing is changing. It still will do nothing except grey out the next button.

Did you hit the Capture button already? How do you get out of this screen when it doesn’t respond?

yes, I hit capture, and then next. I get out of the screen by the X on top. If I don’t x off, I’m just waiting and nothing happens.

This is the capture screen. Nothing happens after I click Next

I’m so embarrassed. I was so afraid that I was going ot make a mistake that I wasn’t reading carefully. Its fixed and the mistake was ALL me.

That’s great that you got it. What was the final fix? If you ran into it others likely will.

The fix was literally reading instructions. I honestly was so frustrated by “nothing” happening, that I wasn’t reading that I needed to move the paper to the left, right, bottom, etc.

I was going to point out that the image was placed in the wrong location but wasn’t sure if that was the issue. Anyway, you got there first.

I purchased a Lightburn 8mp camera. i also have a 600 X 900 bed. The camera will NOT focus. It is no wonder why the do not take returns. I feel the camera i purchased is a P.O.S. DO NOT Purchase a camera from Lightburn.

So, I didn’t buy a lightburn brand camera, but have you tried to use the focus ring around the lens? I bought a $35 camera on Amazon and it focuses perfectly. My best friend has a 3d printer and she printed a housing for me. I’m sorry your camera isn’t working!

What camera did you purchase from amazon?

Have you reached out to LightBurn for support on this? The cameras they sell are the cameras that they test and work with. I’m sure they can help resolve this or correct the issue if it’s a hw fault.
