Is it possible now (and I haven’t found it) or in the upcoming upgrades, to get long file names enabled.
I find that multi layered files sent to my ruida controller tend to be difficult to decipher with a max of 8 characters.

That’s a matter for the folks writing the Ruida control firmware and, AFAICT, will never happen:
Microsoft charges a prohibitive licensing fee for long file names, so everybody stays with lower-cost 8.3 filenames.
That’s interesting. I assumed it was a Ruida issue, but had no idea that Microsoft charged more for longer filenames. Bizarre.
