I bought this camera from Lightburn and during setup when I pick it from the list it says, all I need to do is the alignment.
Unfortunately things aren’t working out.
I have followed alignment setup but once that’s completed I try a few test burns and my lines never match up.
Also if I place in a different material thickness then the camera is useless as I have to lower the bed and everything is out of focus on the camera.
Am I missing something here as I assumed I would be able to use the camera to align my work and get more accurate engraving without all the measurements.
Immediately after the alignment, additional marking on the same material should match up almost perfectly with the camera image.
I suggest you re-home the machine, mark a test shape while in ‘Absolute Coords’ mode , then in the ‘Camera Control’ window, ‘Update Overlay’ and use the X and Y-Shift controls to realign the overlay image of the burn marks with the test shape and then ‘Save Settings’.
Follow this forum link for other common reasons the alignment can be out.
If the material thickness changed that could have messed with the alignment. The ability to raise or lower your laser bed provides a means for keeping the material surface in the same place relative to the camera. Some lasers have an autofocus sensor which will automatically handle this.
