A beginner's woes - Ortur LM2 Pro

Hi all, I have an Ortur LM2 Pro and I cannot get it to work at all.
I have it connected to my iMac and the machine’s panel lights are on. It homes correctly every time I switch it on but that’s all it does.
When I try to send data to the machine I get the following error message:
There was a problem sending data to the laser.
The machine may be busy or paused.
I have tried switching off and restarting, resetting the panel on the machine, Re-booting Lightburn and pausing/unpausing using the buttons on the ‘Move’ panel but I cannot get the laser to do anything other than go to home on startup - it won’t even fire the laser so I can check it’s position.
Does anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this please?

Could you take a full screenshot of your lightburn
Also with machine powered on, connected to your mac
Open a terminal
Type this command
Post the results poease

ioreg -p IOUSB

Thank you, I have to get ready for my kendo session this evening but I will try this tomorrow.

Ok so
Your machine is in fact detected

You might need to launch lightburn LAST to be sure
On your laser panel, in front of devices click the drop list, and make sure you select the device called cu.usbmodemxxxx

Once that is done you should get in console a welcome message from machine

Also make sure your power levels are not so low 20% and 2% are too little

Thank you - I’ll try that. Thanks for the advice on the power levels as well - I was just trying to be safe whilst working it all out. Just wanted to ‘see’ the laser before I actually did any cutting/engraving.
