I recently bought an A20 Pro. I have been getting to grips with it but I have watched a youtube video that shows it cutting through 5mm ply in one pass using various speeds and power settings. I have tried the same with no luck, I have gone as low as 60mm/m with 100% power and its still not even showing on the other side of the material. I also tried 6mm MDF, the literature on their site says it should cut MDF 8mm in four passes at 400mm/m at 100% power, and agin I get nowhere near that.
I have focused the laser with the provided tool, I have the shroud removed so I can more accurately see the frame (glasses on of course) and I have air assist on the go too.
As an edit to this, I placed the shroud back on, refocused the laser, cut a simple square at 10mm/m on 100% power on 5mm ply and still not even broken through.
My A20 PRO has never performed as advertised or reviewed either. I struggled mightily for weeks trying to get the results demonstrated on the reviews.
I did finally get some better results when I replaced the lens. The one that came with the Atomstack had a burn mark that I just couldn’t clean off.
That said, the A20 still does not perform as well as it is supposed to, but better with the new lens. When you buy a pig in a poke, you get what you get.
Try a new lens and post any difference in its performance, I’d be interested.
Good luck.
I got onto technical support about the issue and got an email back this morning. They suggested checking the S value under device settings. It should be at 1000, mine was at 250. I changed the value and now its cutting like a hot knife through butter. I thought I would let you know, just in case.
