I am using my CNC to create prototype Circuit Boards
The tolerances are very fine and the surface of the copper clad boards are not perfect.
I create the design in KiCAD and import various gcode files into MM.where I can set up for milling.
However to adjust the Z values, I currently have to export from MM to UGS where I can scan the surface before returning the item modified gcode to MM
I am finding the precision required is a fun challenge.
I am going through many iterations of set-up and test.
I am running on an entry level FoxAlien Masuter 3S and although I am having to go back to get machine settings more accurate I think it will be able to do the job.
I intend to write it up and put it on GitHub. I’ll let you know when I have something there!
